How have you liked our posts so far!? Hope you have enjoyed and found some new information for you.
By now, as we have posted links about various Social Responsibility actions taken in developing counties by numerous successful companies, can be seen that CSR has established its importance in the strategy of numerous companies. Also, very important have been steps that European Union and United Nation (see post by my colleague Cindy, United Nation The Millennium Development Goals, Eight Goals for 2015, or in english find it at http://www.beta.undp.org/content/undp/en/home/mdgoverview.html) have taken to promote the integration of CSR actions to a company’s strategic plan.
My personal point of view is that it is important to continue with CSR movement in developing countries and we will continue posting news and links about success stories, news and actions taken, nevertheless we should not forget that there are also stories with less success and that have brought misery to local people, like the case of Shell. What we can do is to try to keep up with the information and maybe in the future when we see an opportunity we can join a petition or start one ourselves to show protest over a company’s action in developing countries that does degrade living standards of a community.
Wish you a nice weekend J
