Starbucks, one of the pioneers in the area of CSR

Today I would like to bring a very positive example from the CSR point of view. I find it very amazing the work that a coffee lovers favorite Starbucks is doing all around the world.  

To start with, Starbucks has realized the importance of CSR already many years ago being a pioneer and one of the first ones doing so (their CSR reports are available since 2001) and nowadays their slogan is: “We've always believed that businesses can - and should - have a positive impact on the communities they serve.”. Meaning, ever since Starbucks opened their first store in 1971, they dedicated themselves to earning the trust and respect of customers, partners and neighbors by being responsible and doing things that are good for the planet and each other.

More detailed information can be found at their web, www.starbucks.com/responsibility, where in the CSR reports they present answers for questions like: how do they treat the farmers that grow their coffee; how do they treat their employees; how do they take part in doing their responsibilities to the environment and the society; what are the organizations or communities that they’re involved in.
